MAKI-CONCEPT

I am Maki — a mixed-media artist based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. My work combines hand-cut leather with paint on canvas, depicting the desert creatures and botanicals of the Southwest I now call home. Each piece is intricate, tactile, and built to last.

Thirty years mastering materials at the highest levels of the global footwear industry gave me an intimate knowledge of texture, color, and craft. Now that knowledge lives in my art — in surfaces you can see across a room and want to touch up close.
