Before the studio, before the exhibitions, before Santa Fe became home — there was a couch in an Airbnb and a floral pattern that wouldn't let go. A notebook sketch followed, then a year of quiet waiting, until the painting finally insisted on being made.
A chameleon moves through an abundant garden of tropical blooms — orange, magenta, purple — its body alive with hundreds of hand-applied leather dots that shift like scales catching the light. It is at home here, neither hiding nor announcing itself, simply belonging to the place it has found.
In the Bloom of Change is about arrival. About recognizing beauty in a new place before you even know it will become yours.
